Hike: Let's go to mount »Špička«

Špičašto Stražišče or Velika Špička is a 955 m high hill between the villages of Begunje pri Cerknici and Selšček. It got its name from the pointed peak, which rises sharply from the Menišija plateau and offers a beautiful view of the vast surroundings. It is one of the four peaks on the Cerknica mountain trail (the other three are Slivnica, Križna Gora and Veliki Javornik).

A group of hikers rests at a grassy hilltop. They overlook a vast, scenic mountain landscape.

At the top, we'll enjoy the spectacular views and refresh ourselves with a sip of homemade brandy, tea and a slice of homemade sausage.  After the hike, there will be time for a short visit to the village of Selšček, the hometown of Slovenian painter Maksim Gaspari. At the end, a well-deserved meal awaits you in the Notranjska house - potato žganci with with cracknels.
