Stories from Slovenia

The renovated Museum on the Border collection in Miren

The renovated Museum on the Border collection in Miren

The "Vsemir" exhibition tells a story about the border that cut the Miren Cemetery in two in 1947, dividing it between Yugoslavia and Italy. The border crossed the graves, separating not only the living but also the dead and wreaking havoc on the eternal peace of the cemetery.

‘Vsemir’, a Slovenian word meaning “universe”, is something all-encompassing, something that is common to us all, a space that invites us to stop for a moment, to reflect and question the limits of man and humanity.

Author: Rok Bavčar, design and concept by Bojan B. Bitežnik.

Free admission.
