Wine festivals and wine celebrations in Slovenia

In wine-growing Slovenia, there's always a wine event or festival to enjoy, no matter the season. Discover where and when you can attend them.

Where and when can you experience wine celebrations in Slovenia?

Slovenia has three wine-growing regions – Podravje, Posavje and Primorska – and nine wine districts. In every season, wine brings people together at festivals and events where you can taste wines, meet winemakers and discover the local cuisine. In spring and summer, these are complemented by open-cellar days and cultural events, while autumn is all about grape harvests and St Martin's Day celebrations. To help you plan your visit to a particular wine festival, we have put together a selection of events by season. Find out when and where you can experience them, and explore the programmes and activities organised as part of these events.

Spring: Wine festivals and open cellar days

Spring in Slovenia's wine-growing regions is marked by the first vineyard work of the year, while warmer days invite people to gather outdoors. At festivals and other wine events, winemakers showcase their wines, with the distinctive features of each wine-growing region often taking centre stage.
