Kranjska Gora and its surrounding area are intertwined with cross-country trails in wintertime. Well-maintained trails lead from the centre of Kranjska Gora to the Planica Nordic Centre and onwards to the picturesque Tamar Valley. The section of the trail between Rateče and Tamar is suitable for more skilled cross-country skiers. Modern snowmaking facilities enable cross-country skiing also when winters are greener. Maintained trails can also be found on the way towards Gozd Martuljek, Mojstrana and Zgornja Radovna.

The Pokljuka Plateau is the right place for all lovers of cross-country skiing. Over 30 kilometres of regularly maintained cross-country trails connect various parts of the plateau. There is a sports centre at Rudno polje, which is known as a venue of biathlon world cup competitions. Skiing through spruce forests and across mountain pastures with exceptional views of the surrounding peaks of the Julian Alps is a guarantee that you will feel like you are in a winter fairy tale.

In addition to the trails on Pokljuka, you can also cross-country ski on the trails running along the Upper and Lower Bohinj Valley.
