Visiting Slovenia to find a different kind of relaxation
Our well-being is necessary for our good health. Why shouldn’t we have a memorable experience of something new while in search of it? In Slovenia you will find interesting ways of pampering with raw materials and products you might not guess could be used in such ways.
Honey luxury for well-being
The tradition of apiculture is firmly anchored in Slovenian culture. In the past they relied on the healing power of bees and their products. In various parts of Slovenia, you will nowadays find programmes involving honey and other bee products that will help you restore your health and well-being, from apitherapy and aromatic inhalations in beehives to pampering your body in spas.
The sea is a true treasure chest of natural ingredients that have a beneficial effect on our bodies. These ingredients are also used to good effect in thalasso therapy which can be felt in the most authentic way at the coast. A genuine sea wellness experience awaits you just next to the sea at the Sečovlje Salt Pans, in a unique outdoor wellness centre, where you can enjoy pampering with the richness from the sea. Have you ever taken a dip in a pre-historic sea? You can experience that at Terme PortorožSpa. Maintain your health and well-being with salt pampering experiences, by enjoying salt baths, massages, and salt rooms in different parts of Slovenia.
Did you know that the ingredients that you can taste in beer also have a good effect on your body? See for yourselves at the Thermana Laško Spa, a spa in a town that can boast a rich brewing tradition. Enjoy special beer wellness treatments which are based on the positive effects of beer and do your body good, calm it down, nourish the skin, and maintain its vitality.
In the midst of the forests of the Pohorje Hills, in highland bogs, find the unique Pohorje peat, which has a number of beneficial effects on your health and well-being. The power of this incredible natural resource, which is estimated to be approximately 10,000 years old, is recognised at the Terme Zreče Spa, where peat is used for therapies and pampering. Feel its positive effects as you enjoy wraps and baths.
The secrets of the thousand years old glacier water
Don’t get chills down your spine if you are offered a pampering in glacier water. At the Špik Hotel in Gozd Martuljek, they discovered the benefits of such water. It has been has been deep underground in the glacier lakes for over a thousand years. Because of its purity we refer to it as the water of all waters. It is rich in minerals and has a neutral pH, thus it beneficially effects our body.
If the Roman god of wine had to choose from among the wellness programmes in Slovenia, he would have certainly chosen to be pampered with wine, accompanied by a grapeseed oil massage. In the spa located in Ptuj, Slovenia's oldest city, he would have indulged in a culinary and wellness experience called Wine&Wellness and then, pleasantly relaxed, spent the night in a wine barrel at the Wine Village at Terme Ptuj Spa. Why not follow in his footsteps?
Feel the healing power of the herbs from Pannonian meadows at the Thermalium Wellness at the Terme 3000 in Moravske Toplice. It is captured in nourishing oils, peeling treatments, and baths for you to feel pampered. Particular importance is also attached to buckwheat, which has been grown in the fields of Prekmurje for over 500 years. After visiting the saunas, make sure you stop at the Buckwheat Lounge, where you can rest in a unique way on pillows filled with buckwheat hulls, which calm, relax, micro massage, and regulate heat.
In Slovenia, you can do something for your body and spirit almost at every step. If you are seeking a perfect wellness experience, then you must visit the most unique wellness centres in Slovenia’s spas, large and small.
