BIENNIALS AND MAJOR EXHIBITIONS

Slovenia boasts two design biennales, considered the oldest in Europe - the Graphic Arts and the Industrial Design Biennials. The Slovenian Design Biennial (BIO) runs until 28 April 2025. The Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2025. In addition, discover the global and the local in art and creativity at Slovenia's biggest exhibitions.

70th anniversary of the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts

The Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts is considered to be the world's oldest such event. Its selection and review of excellent design has been inspiring visitors since 1955. In 2025, it will celebrate its 36th edition and 70th anniversary. The main exhibition of the biennial, The Oracle, is being created under the curatorial direction of Chus Martínez, with numerous events and discussions planned to follow. The Ljubljana Biennial hosts 50 artists and attracts more than 30,000 visitors.
