You can also find some great swimming in natural swimming spots, thermal water parks and several urban swimming pools. Most towns have an urban swimming pool open, and some of them even offer additional summer services for unforgettable holidays in Slovenia. Here are a few tips on where to go for urban refreshment.

If the heat becomes too much while strolling around the capital of Slovenia, cool off at one of Ljubljana’s swimming pools.
While visiting some Slovenian towns, don’t miss out on the nearby thermal centres and health resorts where you can enjoy water activities. Visit alluring thermal and water parks with exciting water attractions.
After exploring the impressive history of the Counts of Celje and Celje’s Roman era, take a dip in the swimming pool by the Savinja River. You can swim in the Olympic-sized pool and your children will love the kids’ pool with its exciting play area. Swimming is not the only thing to do here – you can also play beach volleyball, basketball, and football.
The Žusterna swimming pool near Koper will allow you to choose whether you want to swim in the sea or in an Olympic-sized pool. The well-kept beach appeals to many passers-by. There are plenty of opportunities for a refreshing swim if you visit Kranj in summer. It has the biggest water sports centre in Slovenia, featuring an indoor Olympic-size swimming pool and a summer bathing area with an Olympic-size swimming pool and two pools for children.
The renovated summer swimming area in Murska Sobota is an excellent choice for a refreshing family day. While parents can swim in the Olympic-size or a slightly smaller pool, children can play in the children’s pool or slide down a water slide. In addition to swimming, you can also have a beach volleyball match on one of the five volleyball courts.
The main summer and water fun in Velenje is on Velenje beach at Lake Velenje where, in addition to swimming, plenty of other water activities are also available. While the children keep busy on the inflatable attractions at the water park, you can play football, beach volleyball, basketball, and other sports at the beach. You can even rent a SUP, kayak, or boat.
The Gorenjska Beach in Tržič is a modern swimming pool complex everyone can enjoy: those looking to just cool off as well as recreational swimmers. Your water fun will be even better with the breath-taking view of the surrounding Karavanke mountains. Not far from the complex there is also an RV rest stop.
