A green country in the heart of Europe
In one of the most forested countries in the world, peace and quiet are easy to find – you don't have to venture deep into primeval forest to enjoy them. Hidden spots untouched by the noise of modern life can even be found in city centres or just a few steps away. Urban parks and botanical gardens, forests, alpine pastures, lakes and rivers, nature and landscape parks, the countryside – you don't have to go far to discover a secluded place where you can calm your thoughts and breath, where you can simply become one with nature. Here, forests are our cathedrals, meadows our sanctuaries, and mountaineering and hiking a true form of meditation in the fresh air. Strength can be drawn from nature. Quite literally. Slovenian gastronomy derives its distinctive character from local flavours, local producers, and the land and climate of its diverse regions. Slovenians work with nature proudly and responsibly – every day, for a new day.

Feel-good towns of Slovenia
The charm of Slovenian cities and towns lies in the sense of humanity and freedom they inspire. From lively city streets, you can reach expansive parks and botanical gardens in just a few steps, or pause for a moment along beautifully maintained riverbanks. Galleries and museums offer the luxury of peace, quiet and space for reflection. Many of them are already introducing relaxation programmes for visitors – at the National Gallery in Ljubljana, you can practice gallery mindfulness, while at the Maribor Art Gallery and MUZA Gallery in Ljubljana, you can occasionally take part in a yoga session or immerse yourself in a sound bath. Churches, chapels and other sacred heritage sites are also places of retreat and, for many, places of special energy.

Taste Slovenia, taste love and vitality
The flavours of Slovenia reflect its diverse landscapes, local traditions, and a genuine care for the land and everything it produces. We Slovenians like to say that the philosophy of "from garden to plate" thrives here, as even award-winning chefs create their dishes in close collaboration with local producers, using ingredients sourced not far from the kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants. Slovenians are passionate gardeners, and almost every home has its own garden and orchard, and even in cities, the smallest balconies and windowsills are transformed into little patches where fresh produce is grown. We enjoy sharing our harvest with family, friends and neighbours, or source it from nearby farms and local markets. Authentic local ingredients, such as salt, beer and honey, also inspire treatments available at Slovenian thermal spas.

Active experiences in a green playground
Slovenian hills and scenic viewpoints are not only well visited on weekends but also during the week. For Slovenians, there is no better remedy than a walk in the fresh air or a hike up a nearby hill, which gets your heart pumping, clears your mind and rewards you with beautiful views. An extensive network of well-maintained hiking and cycling trails, along with numerous rivers and lakes, offers the perfect setting for active and sometimes adrenaline-filled outdoor experiences. The remarkable natural backdrop also invites calm and relaxation: in some places, you'll find powerful energy spots, while increasingly popular experiences also include yoga retreats, meditation weekends, forest escapes and other mindfulness experiences in the embrace of nature.
Exercise. My way.
