The mouth-watering aroma of honey biscuits that just melt in your mouth... Are you drooling yet? Try baking your own honey delights following this excellent recipe from top Slovenian chef Ana Roš, the world’s best female chef, and surprise your family and guests with these popular Slovenian biscuits. And dober tek! (Bon appétit!)


You will need the following ingredients:

500 g all-purpose flour

150 g butter at room temperature

120 g powdered sugar

180 g Slovenian honey

1 tsp baking soda

1 egg

4 tsp of mixed cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and star anise (mix and strain or sift)


Preparation of dough and baking:

Mix all of the ingredients into a smooth dough. Form biscuits in any desired shape, using forms or by hand, place them on a baking sheet and bake at 150 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.

To make them even better, have your children help in the preparations and have a biscuit baking party!
