Green story of Slovenia

Slovenia tells its green story through the winners of the Slovenia Green label, those who are committed to sustainable and green operations.

Trust the green

Slovenia is a country that tells its green story. Everything is green no matter which direction you turn – towards the Alpine peaks and extensive forests, the Adriatic Sea, the mysterious Karst and nearby vineyards, and the Pannonian Plain. Slovenians love their green country, so their concern is focused on preserving natural and cultural treasures. They like to share their love for their beautiful green surroundings with others who value sustainable management and development. Be a part of that green love!

Feel the vibe of the green heart of Europe

Slovenia is a real wonder of nature in itself. Whether in the city or in the countryside, wherever you turn, you will find green. For centuries, the people living here have breathed with nature and tried to keep the country green for future generations. Efforts aimed at sustainable development and environmental preservation start with individuals and providers and gradually reach destinations and the entire country. Discover our green story through green adventures, find shelter in green accommodation facilities and follow sustainable steps towards a green future.

Discover green Slovenia

Follow the Slovenia Green label

Slovenia is the first country in the world to have been, in its entirety, declared a Green Destination of the World. A pristine green environment encourages us to act responsibly and protectively. Under the auspices of the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism, we implement green policies and create green experiences. The Slovenia Green label, which is a promise of a green future, is also awarded under this national programme. The number of Slovenia Green label winners is steadily expanding and already has more than 280 members. The winners of the Slovenia Green label are trustworthy, as they have an internationally recognised quality and sustainability award.

Destinations led by green ideas

The mosaic of Slovenia’s green story is made up of individual pieces that form a model of responsible preservation of natural and cultural heritage and attitude towards the environment. The most sustainably aspiring destinations bear the platinum or golden Slovenia Green label. Destinations with a silver or bronze label are on a good way to follow the green path. Discover where a green and responsible mind-set is in first place.

Responsible holidays with green providers

We are aware that a positive and responsible attitude towards the environment is an increasingly important value when choosing a holiday. Escaping to the purity of the great outdoors and forging more intimate relationships is coming to the forefront and this is also known by providers who live and breathe as one with the local environment. The winners of the Slovenia Green label are the most assiduous.
