When heat feels good
Do you want to free your body of harmful substances and relax? Then saunas are the right choice for you! Slovenia provides countless opportunities to visit saunas. The most common are steam rooms, also known as Turkish baths, and Finnish and infra-red saunas, which you can find almost at every step. You can combine the beneficial power of saunas with delicious ingredients, which feel good if you taste them or if you feel them on your body.
Saunas and programmes that you just have to experience
Learn about the types of saunas and sauna programmes that add value to your relaxation. They are mostly based on the well-established types of saunas – Turkish, Finnish and infra-red. Either various aromas and essential oils are added to these or you apply beneficial ingredients before entering the sauna, which further stimulate the positive effects of the sauna.
Honey has many positive effects on health and wellness. In addition to honey massages, you can also enjoy honey treatments in honey saunas.
Perhaps your mouth begins to water when you hear the word "chocolate", but you can also enjoy it in a healthier way, including in the form of body wraps before entering the sauna.
Salt has a beneficial effect on the respiratory system and skin. The combination of sauna and body rubbing with salt has a soothing effect on your well-being.
Herbal saunas can be found in almost all of the major wellness centres. Steam rooms or Finnish saunas are often complemented with various herbs, sometimes grown locally.
A therapeutic mud body treatment and sauna. A great combination for a nice, healthy appearance and well-being.
A sanarium or biosauna is a pleasant combination of a Finnish sauna and a steam room, which makes you feel like you are in a tropical rainforest. Moderate humidity and temperature ensure that you have a pleasant sauna experience.
If you do not have any serious medical problems, a visit to a crystal sauna can be an interesting experience. It works by using the effects of negative ions.
Did you know that light and colours also have a strong effect on your road to health and wellness? Chromotherapy, i.e. colour therapy, is also used to great effect in some saunas.
Unlike other saunas, the caldarium, i.e. Roman sauna, is intended for socialising, conversations, and preparing to continue with the sauna experience. The temperature is considerably lower than in other saunas.
Experience wellness treatments that use a traditional Japanese method.
Best sauna centres in spas

Saunas are often part of programmes intended to strengthen the immune system, detoxify the body, accelerate weight loss and provide other treatments.
Boost your immune system
At a time when we are surrounded by several health problems, it is especially important to keep one’s immune system strong. At Slovenian natural health resorts, a comprehensive approach is used to boost the immune system involving a proper diet plan, detoxification and resistance-boosting programmes, exercise in the fresh air, and a positive attitude towards life.

Every day we are exposed to the adverse effects of the environment, resulting in various toxins entering our bodies. At a certain point, it is time to say 'enough' and get rid of these harmful substances. To this end, you can try the full-body detoxification programmes available at some Slovenian spas.
The key to achieving long-lasting weight loss and body toning is to tackle this process thoughtfully. For this reason, Slovenian spas employ professionals who will help you reach your desired weight in a healthy way through a customised individual approach.
