Karst caves are true art galleries that impress visitors with their natural sculptures. Some are easily accessible to all visitors, but the vast majority can be reached only by the most daring and experienced cavers. If you have some Indiana Jones in you, then these fascinating cave or underground experiences will certainly get your attention. Join the active exploration of the Slovenian underground world.

Wonders of Slovenia hidden under the Earth's surface

So far, more than 13,000 caves have been discovered in Slovenia. Most of them are found in the karst underground, but some are located elsewhere in the country. Slovenia can boast the most visited tourist cave in Europe and the deepest underground canyon. These caves were the first in Slovenia to make it onto the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Cross Cave by boat

The underground lakes and discovery of a cave bear skeleton have brought world fame to Cross Cave. But this has not spoiled it. It still retains its wild authenticity and beauty, so rubber boots and a headlamp are must-have equipment. Take a boat ride through the emerald-green underground lakes. You can choose how long your adventure will take. But you need to hurry because the number of visitors is very limited for some tours due to measures to protect the cave.
