Škofja Loka is one of the most recognisable craft and handicraft towns with a long tradition. The Domestic and Artistic Crafts Centre continues this tradition with its numerous workshops. There you will be shown and taught how to make the famous gingerbread pastry, how to work wood, metal, clay, glass, and paper, and you will also learn how to make wonderful felt products.

Pottery making in Filovci (Prekmurje)

In the past, every house in Filovci was home to potters. Today, this tradition is continued in Lončarska vas (Pottery Village). There you will be welcomed by the only family still preserving and passing on the tradition of pottery from the area surrounding Moravske Toplice. Visit the local pottery making museum, cimprače (traditional Pannonian houses made of wood, mud and straw) and see a pottery demonstration. If you call ahead to schedule your visit, you can create your own product using a pottery spindle. Besides making pottery, you can also try your hand at ceramic painting.
