Campsites in Slovenia – stay close to nature

Slovenia is graced by beautiful nature, with a different character in every part of this green country. Stay close to nature by choosing one of the many well-maintained campsites for your next getaway.

Why choose campsites in Slovenia?

Do you love waking up to birdsong and falling asleep under the stars? Camping brings us back to our roots, closer to nature and away from the stress of everyday life. But don’t be tempted to pitch your tent just anywhere – wild camping is prohibited in Slovenia.

Instead, immerse yourself in nature at one of the many well-maintained campsites across the country. Most campsites offer more than just pitches for overnight stays. In addition to areas for tents, caravans and motorhomes, many now feature mobile homes and glamping accommodations. There is a range of activities you can enjoy in and around the campsites to make your holiday more memorable. You’ll find campsites by lakes and rivers, by the sea, in forests, on the outskirts of towns and even among vineyards.

The camps operate in harmony with nature and follow sustainability guidelines to the greatest degree possible.

Most camps have well-maintained road connections and access and boast excellent infrastructures.

Recreational surfaces in camps and their surrounding areas provide many options for activities in nature.

In addition to plots for tents, caravans and motorhomes, some campsites feature mobile homes and glamping accommodation.

Camps connect with their local environments when supplying local produce and also when cooperating with other local providers.

Campsites can be found at various locations – along bodies of water, in forests, among vineyards, near towns, etc.

The luxury of glamping

Glamping brings a new dimension of luxury to camping. You can enjoy the comfort of a hotel room, while still being in close contact with nature. These accommodations are available as part of a campsite, a standalone resort or a section of another accommodation provider. While there’s no formal glamping rating system, minimum standards apply: clean sanitation facilities, running water and waste sorting.

Camping with a motorhome

Many campsites are specially equipped for motorhomes and include dedicated infrastructure. You’ll also find designated motorhome stops across Slovenia, all meeting specific standards. Stops have an entrance gate, level, marked parking spaces, electrical connections for all marked spaces, fresh water access, waste sorting bins and a station for emptying chemical toilets and wastewater.
