From thermal springs to unforgettable experiences

Terme Čatež is a popular destination for family vacations, endless pampering and the pursuit of health. The most popular attraction is the Thermal Riviera water park, which is the largest in Central Europe with a total surface area of 12,000 m². Numerous water attractions offer fun for all ages throughout the year. But the beginnings of tourism in the "Čateške toplice" spa were quite different. Travel back with us through 100 years of tourism in Terme Čatež and celebrate its anniversary by immersing yourself in unforgettable thermal experiences.

In the beginning, there was water

More than 200 years ago, the first thermal water springs were discovered in the Čatež field, and their healing effects were known far and wide. The noble Attems family, owners of the estate rich in thermal springs, built the first spa house in the Swiss style in 1925, and the first upscale guests began arriving in Čatež.

The good reputation of Čatež and its healing waters quickly spread worldwide, and the number of visitors began to grow rapidly. Today, Terme Čatež is one of the most popular natural health resorts in Slovenia.

There is plenty of space for water fun at Terme Čatež. The indoor and outdoor pool complex covering over more than 12,000 m² offers something for everyone. Slide down thrilling water slides and chutes, float leisurely on the lazy river with rubber rings, experience a touch of seaside atmosphere in the wave pool, and let the youngest find joy in the pirate-themed play areas. The newest addition is a 77-meter-long slide with light effects, the longest indoor slide in Slovenian thermal spas.

Relaxation in Čatež's oases of wellbeing

Step into a world of unique pampering at Terme Čatež Treat yourself to a peaceful and relaxing escape in the saunas and pools of the modern wellness centres at the local hotels and the Riviera complex. Enjoy aromatic Ayurvedic massages and other soothing treatments, and release muscle tension with Thai massages in the wellness centres.

Thermal water – the treasure of Terme Čatež

The healing thermal water, emerging from depths of 300 to 600 metres at temperatures between 58 and 63°C, was discovered in the Čatež field over 220 years ago. The word of its beneficial effects quickly spread around the world, and today it is an indispensable part of the pools and various therapeutic practices.

Accommodations – from pirates to nobles

Spend your holiday in a whirlwind of water fun and pampering. At Terme Čatež, you can choose from four hotels, three of which are four-star. If you prefer more space and privacy, you can opt for staying in apartments. Lovers of sleeping under the stars can pitch a tent or park a trailer or campervan in the five-star campsite, while adventurers can stay in cabins in the Pirates Bay. If you are romantic by nature, you can spend the night at Mokrice Castle, just a few kilometres from the spa.

The path to health

Besides offering water fun and wellness activities, Terme Čatež is part of a network of natural health resorts specialising in rehabilitation and therapeutic spa treatments. An expert medical team, using modern medical equipment and devices and incorporating the healing thermal water, carries out treatment and rehabilitation after injuries and musculoskeletal surgeries, sports injuries, rheumatic and neurological diseases, and gynaecological conditions.
