From 6 to 8 November, Slovenia will present its offer at the WTM London, one of the leading travel trade shows. 35 companies and institutions (34 % more than last year) will introduce themselves under the slogan “Be(e) Responsible.” The focus is on the story of bees and on sustainable and cultural tourism. The latter will also be at the forefront of promotional activities for Slovenian tourism for the next two years. Slovenia will use a creative exhibition space and programme to highlight the sustainable focus of its tourism that allows visitors to have unique experiences.  The main partner is the historical town of Radovljica, which successfully links the offer of bee-keeping and cultural tourism.

At WTM London, Slovenia will present itself as a leading global destination for responsible and sustainable tourism that offers unique experiences and stories. Cultural tourism will also be in the forefront of the promotional activities in the next two years. This is also why the brand new brochure about the cultural tourism in Slovenia, entitled Experiences of Culture, will be presented in London.

This year’s objective is to show Slovenia as a destination that, in addition to green, active, and healthy experiences, also allows visitors to have incredible experiences of culture. The main partner at is Radovljica, the town which successfully combines the traditional and the modern and cultural and bee-keeping tourism.

The entertainment section of the exhibition space will be transformed into an apiary with painted beehive panels, where visitors will have a chance to participate in their production. Radovljica will also showcase the production of gingerbread and provide a honey tasting. In addition, visitors will also have a chance to taste the Slovenian dishes prepared by renowned chef Uroš Štefelin.

The Slovenian Tourist Board will also organise a special event for the media, where the Slovenian cuisine and the examples of responsible tourism, including the bee-keeping tourism, will be presented.

The slogan “Be(e) Responsible,” which carries a double meaning – be responsible and take care of the bees – highlights the significance of people’s co-existence with nature and of keeping bees, the caretakers of our environment and life.
