1. Slovenia is your perfect business partner

Slovenia’s excellent geostrategic position, at the heart of Europe, is one of its obvious advantages that is beneficial to investors. As part of the EU market, Slovenia may serve as a springboard for overseas companies wanting to do business in the EU or on the Balkans, or in the countries of Eastern Europe. The location at the crossroads of TEN-T corridors is the ideal entry point for an instant access to European countries with more than 700 million customers. When thinking about the reasons why Slovenia is your perfect potential business partner, note that it has all attributes needed to do business across the region: knowledge of language, customs and culture, as well as personal connections. The value added per employee continues to increase, ensuring that Slovenia remains at the forefront in highly competitive markets. To do so, having an excellent workforce would not be enough. Hence, there are many other advantages to investing or doing business in Slovenia. Notably, the business-friendly legislation, investment incentives, 19% corporate income tax rate and investment tax allowance. This mix allows various industries to thrive in Slovenia, with many of them having a large footprint in international markets.

2. Slovenia offers excellent business opportunities

Slovenia’s strategy for the future remains on further increasing the value added in the high and medium-high technology industries: manufacture of vehicles and vessels, the manufacture of electrical and optical equipment, and the manufacture of machinery and equipment. The focus is also on knowledge-intensive services that lead to manufacturing or technological innovations, sharpening the competitive edge of Slovenia’s manufacturing industries at home and abroad. The flagship industries include electronics and electrical engineering, machine building, wood processing, food processing, healthcare and life science, hospitality and entertainment. Business opportunities between Slovenia and USA are numerous. Opportunities for increased economic partnerships between Slovenia and the U.S. exist particularly in the areas of environmental technologies (environmental equipment), healthcare (medical equipment), computers, hardware and software, ICT, other high technologies, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food processing, and green technologies. The U.S. market has been identified by the Slovenian government as one of the priority markets for increasing trade or exports of Slovenian products and services, as well as the market from which we expect the most serious investors. According to the latest data, the United States is the largest investor in Slovenia. The U.S. is also one of the most important long-distance markets for Slovenian tourism with excellent growth potential. The US market is recovering rapidly after the Covid-19 epidemic. Last year, Slovenia recorded 116,944 tourist arrivals from the US, 201% more than the year before and 21% less than in 2019, when the number of US tourists visiting Slovenia was at a record high. The number of overnight stays by US tourists reached 267,131 last year, 180% more than the previous year and 17% below 2019. Slovenia is a world leader in green and sustainable tourism and a country with a huge sports heart. It is perfect for outdoor adventures, discovering rich cultural heritage and world-class gastronomy. It is also the only country with the word 'love' in its name.

3. Slovenia is a country of champions

Many Slovenian companies in various sectors are so-called hidden champions - world leaders in areas of high technology and niche technology. They are characterized by innovation, creativity, high added value and competitive products. Many of them are already writing successful business stories together with their numerous foreign partners. It is no surprise that Slovenia is one of the thirty (30) most innovative countries in the world. Every single car in the world has at least one component made in Slovenia. Slovenia is also above the European Union average in the use of artificial intelligence, what is more, the first UNESCO International Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence was established in Ljubljana.
