Slovenia will be the partner country at the prestigious event of the Hungarian tourism industry

As part of strengthening promotional and marketing activities in markets that show particularly high growth potential, the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) will intensify its activities in 2022 on the Hungarian market. On Sunday, 1 May, Slovenia will present itself as a partner country of the gala Tourism Season-opening event. As part of the press conference, a document on closer cooperation between the STB and the Hungarian Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators will be signed.

The press conference will be followed by a round table with a presentation of the tourist offer of three destinations in the eastern part of Slovenia: Maribor, Rogla – Pohorje and Carinthia. Slovenia is gaining on importance in Hungary as a destination for excellent gastronomic experiences and top wines, which is why the presentation of Slovenia in Budapest will also be attended by the official 25th wine queen of Slovenia, Ana Protner.

Strengthening activities in nearby, including the Hungarian market

The STB has adapted its activities for 2022 in cooperation with the Slovenian tourism industry. Activities are thus intensified, especially in the nearby European markets with good airflight connections. It is important to highlight that in terms of tourist arrivals, Hungary has gained on importance. Compared to 2020, a 64% growth in tourist arrivals and a 58 % growth in tourist overnight stays was recorded in 2021.
