The Slovenian Tourist Board's video wins the ETC-CIFFT Video Competition 2020

The Slovenian Tourist Board's video "Time to #stayhome. Turn to nature and dream” was ranked first at the ETC-CIFFT Video Competition 2020 among as many as 18 promotional videos of 12 participating European national tourism organizations.

The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) won the first place in the ETC-CIFFT video competition 2020 in the Social Responsibility And Value of Tourism/COVID-19 category for its video “Time to #stayhome. Turn to nature and dream.”

The awards for the best videos in the travel industry are each year awarded by the The International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) together with the European Travel Commission. For the ETC-CIFFT video competition 2020, a total of 18 videos from 12 different European tourism boards were submitted and evaluated by the expert jury comprising professionals from the tourism, audio-visual, and marketing sectors.

With the video “Time to #stayhome. Turn to nature and dream ”, launched in April 2020, the STB invited social media followers from abroad to inspire and dream about Slovenia and plan a visit in the future, communicated with the message #StayHome so we can #TravelTomorrow. The emotional message shared hope that we will all soon be able to enjoy the natural beauties of Slovenia again. For the video, which was edited during the coronavirus, the footage from the Slovenia Green video was used. The original video showcases Slovenia as a green sustainable destination:

The director of the STB, Msc. Maja Pak, pointed out on this occasion:"I am glad that the international expert jury recognized the sincere message of the Time To Stay Home video, which was put together during the uncertain situation in the first epidemic wave last spring. It is based on the feelings and values, which our I feel Slovenia brand expresses. Especially in times like this, such awards are of great importance. On the one hand, they confirm our innovative and effective approach to marketing and communication activities, and on the other hand globally raise the visibility of Slovenia as a sustainable and responsible destination. This will play a significant role in gaining back the confidence of tourists when tourism restarts."

After the video was launched on the Feel Slovenia's social channels, it organically reached more than 300,000 online users. Even Luka Dončić, internationally known Slovenian basketball player and the ambassador of the Slovenian tourism, shared it on his personal Instagram and Facebook profile.

Followers from all over the world went crazy about it: “Definitely the most beautiful country in the world. ❤ I can't wait to visit it again” or “I visited Slovenia last summer and the video reminded me of the extraordinary moments I spent there. What an amazing green country!” and “I once found my love here, which did not last. But the love for green Slovenia will remain forever.”

The winning video “Time to #stayhome. Turn to nature and dream” was created by the TENT production house, run by internationally renowned Slovenian photographer Ciril Jazbec. The international competition jury, which consisted of the experts in the fields of tourism, audiovisual communications, public relations, marketing and advertising, was inspired by the laid-back scenes of lush green meadows, water, trees and local traditions, showcasing the picture of the future we want to return to. The STB’s campaign #StayHome, #TravelTomorrow stood out among many other inspirational campaigns, especially for its contemplative and genuine atmosphere. With positive communication and a well-thought-out story, the STB aroused hope for a better tomorrow and invited people to dream about Slovenia and plan a visit in the near future.

The winners of the ETC-CIFFT Video Competition competition will compete at the Grand Prix CIFFT Circuit 2021 for the title of the World’s Best Tourism Film, with the entry fee sponsored by ETC and CIFFT. The circuit is the most prestigious awards and recognition initiative in the travel video marketing industry. The competition brings together tourism film festivals from 4 continents and provides an excellent opportunity to increase the participating brands' reach and notoriety.
