NEW! Žiče Charterhouse through smart glasses

Rogla-Pohorje Tourist Destination introduced a digital novelty at the Žiče Charterhouse this summer. From July on, this exceptional monument of cultural heritage can be experienced through smart glasses, on the basis of augmented reality (AR).  By the end of the summer, also an app for smartphones and tablets will be launched.

What will you experience in this AR tour of Žiče Charterhouse? When you take a look at the Žiče Charterhouse through smart glasses, you will get a chance to see and experience objects that are no longer there or are now maybe in ruins, you will meet the Carthusians and travel back in time, to the times of the very beginnings of the monastery.

The tour is accompanied by audio guides, which are available also for individual tours.  Five packages of smart glasses and twenty audio guides enable you to walk through the monastery independently and adjust the tour to your interests, wishes, time and feelings. A great chance for a unique and personal experience of the eloquent story of the Žiče Charterhouse. Smart glasses are currently available in Slovenian and English. Audio guides enable visits also in German, French and Italian. 

The AR tour is a result of the project Green digital adventures at Tourist Destination Rogla-Pohorje, partly financed by the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology. More such digital novelties will follow in the future, among them the Dwarf’s Learning Trail at Rogla, which will be introduced to the public very soon.
