Culture & City Breaks InstaMeet: a wrap-up

Four great instagrammers from all around Europe, four sunny days, a number of different locations around Slovenia. Here's a wrap-up of the Culture & City Break Instameet, which took place in early June.

Culture & City Breaks InstaMeet: a wrap-up

Daniel Antoniol from Italy, Julia Rosenbusch, Nikolaus Brinkmann from Germany and Olga Czagunawa from the UK came to Slovenia to capture the best of cultural sights. Their discovery led them through Ljubljana, Bela Krajina, Krupa, Otočec, Kostanjevica na Krki, Škocjan Caves, Predjama Castle, Idrija, Franja Partisan Hospital, Škofja Loka and Bled.

Their journey started in Ljubljana, where they were taken to some of the best photo-ops locations, including the Ljubljana Castle. Extra nice weather was just an icing on the cake. Afterwards, they moved to Bela Krajina, where they explored the charming towns, visited the spring of Krupa and got acquainted with the traditional method of flax production.

The next stop was the dreamy Otočec with a breathtakingly beautiful castle, which also houses a 5* Relais Chateua hotel and then Kostanjevica na Krki, the smallest and one of the oldest Slovenian towns. Here, they had a chance to get an insight into the Slovenian cultural heritage by visiting one of the most impressive Slovenian museums. Then they continued their journey into the Land of hayracks, which is also the first open-air museum of hayracks. The museum’s purpose is to show the development of the hayracks through time and space. They finished their exploration of the eastern part of Slovenia in Novo mesto and moved to the south of the country, more precisely to Škocjan Caves, Predjama Castle and Idrija. They also visited Franja Hospital, a symbol of international alliance and resistance against Fascism and Nazism during WWII, and the charming town of Škofja Loka. Since no trip to Slovenia is complete without visiting Bled, they also made a stop there.
