Golden Fox Trophy takes place in Maribor next week, 1-2 February
The 55th edition of the renowned Golden Fox Trophy skiing world cup for women takes place in Maribor next week, 1-2 February.

Next Friday and Saturday, February 1 and 2, Maribor will be in the spotlight of women's alpine skiing. The 55th Golden Fox Trophy skiing world cup for women will bring the best skiers from all over the world to Maribor, Slovenian second biggest city and home to the world’s oldest vine. Slovenians are particularly pleased to confirm the performance of the current best Slovenian skier, Ilka Štuhec.
The start of Friday's giant slalom and Saturday slalom will be at 10 am.
The Golden Fox Trophy is famous also for its excellent atmosphere created by numerous spectators who come to cheer for the competitors. Since Pohorje is just a stone’s throw away from the lively old town of Maribor, this is additional asset of the competition.
This year, part of the skiing event will take place in the city centre, at Leon Štukelj Square, where the giant slalom race number draw will be accompanied by the concert of a popular Slovenian band, Šank Rock. On Friday, on the occasion of the fifth slalom draw and the announcement of the giant slalom results, another popular band will take the stage: Prismojeni profesorji bluesa. Both events start at 5:15 pm.
