Slovenia at Virtuoso Chairman’s Event

Virtuoso Chairman's Event is an annual invitation-only event, which recognizes and rewards Virtuoso’s top member agencies across several categories. This year, it was held 4 – 8 November in Venice. It was attended by 180 to 200 key decision-makers from the renowned Virtuoso association. Slovenia had an opportunity participate in this event and increase the visibility on the global level, as a boutique destination offering unique experiences in the segment of guests with the higher income.

Virtuoso Chairman's Event is annually attended by those members of the association who achieve the highest sales results, the highest sales per employee, the highest sales growth and or are the most active members. The event is each year hosted by a different destination, this year it was Venice.

Italy ranks among the most visited and the most desirable European countries this year. The fact that Venice is less than 3-hour drive from Slovenia, makes the possibility of linking our country's tourist programs with Venice even higher. Thus, this was a great opportunity for presenting Slovenia as an excellent destination in the segment of boutique and luxury trips for US and other guests within the Virtuoso association.

By holding a presentation of Slovenia at the Virtuoso Chairman's Event in Venice, the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) will bring Slovenia closer to the key decision makers in the segment of luxury and boutique tourism and thus upgrade all the successful and effective promotional activities that have been carried out in cooperation with the association so far.

“Presentation of Slovenia as a boutique destination at the Virtuoso Chairman's Event is a unique opportunity to increase the recognition of Slovenia among the most successful agents of Virtuoso. The leading global association in the field of luxury travel industry has shown a special attention to Slovenia by inviting us to this event. Only the members of the Virtuoso who have achieved the highest sales results are invited to the event. We expect that the presentation of Slovenia for almost 200 tour operators will bring greater visibility and interest among agents who operate higher income groups and consequently also among their clients, who are interested in new attractive destinations that offer excellent experiences," stressed Msc Maja Pak, Director of the STB, and added: “Presenting Slovenia at Virtuoso's Chairman's Event is targeting higher income groups and pursues the objectives of the 2017-2021 Strategy for the Sustainable Growth of Slovenian Tourism."

STB was in the spotlight already in August, during the Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas, when it was nominated for the best tourist organization of the year.
