“Slovenia in particular surprised me…”

Slovenia’s breathtaking diversity and pristine nature have inspired many world-renowned photographers, who shared their impression on their Instagram profiles. Among them also Johan Lolos, who visited back in 2017, as part of his five-months travel through 17 countries and pointed out that Slovenia has surprised him the most.

Lately (luckily), we hear it often, that Slovenia is Europe’s hidden gem. The country, which is nestled between the Alps, the Karst, the Pannonian plain and the Mediterranean, inspires visitors with its diversity, breathtaking nature and green soul. The official FeelSlovenia Instagram profile is booming with remarkable photos, which reveal hidden spots of the country and encourage visitors to explore off-the-beaten-track destinations. This holds true also for many Instagrammers, who decide to visit our green country and share their moments with their audience. Among them is also Johan Lolos is a Belgian-born self-taught travel photographer, who has more than 450,000 followers on Instagram. When he visited Slovenia back in 2017 together with his girlfriend, as part of his 17-countries tour he was clearly inspired. In the interview for the Eurowings inflight magazine, he said: “Slovenia in particular surprised me. It’s the greenest and cleanest country I’ve ever seen.”

It is great to hear that Slovenia inspires not only world-renowned photographers, but also people that live and breathe with tourism and play an important role in forming the global travel trends. Among them is definitely Carlos Melia, a full-service luxury bespoke travel agent and travel blogger, who is also a member of Virtuoso the leading network of global luxury travel consultants. He recently visited Slovenia and posted a great number of posts to his Instagram account. His words best describe why Slovenia is a true hidden gem for demanding guests who seek authenticity and uniqueness: “Luxury has so many interpretations. I believe, it is most authentic, when understood beyond the obvious.”

Let us recall: 14 days ago, the summer part of the ifeelsLOVEnia campaign has come to an end. In the last three months, a 140% increase in the use of #ifeelsLOVEnia on social media channels has been recorded in comparison to similar past periods and the photos received more than 5 million likes. The Slovenian Tourist Board is planning to launch another campaign in autumn.
