Drink Tea & Travel – on sustainable travel through Slovenia

Oksana and Max, a nomadic couple from Canada which runs an award-winning sustainable oriented blog Drink Tea and Travel, travel the world in search of cultural experiences, human connections and sustainable approach towards tourism. Slovenia was on their bucket list ever since they heard about numerous awards that our country received in the field of sustainable tourism.

This June, the charming couple came to Slovenia to discover what it has to offer in terms of sustainable development. The mission of their blog is to pursue a more sustainable travel lifestyle and Slovenia formed an essential part of their story of responsible travel.

They describe Slovenia as a country of “spectacular mountains, colourful lakes, dense forests, karst caves, and enchanting waterfalls, offering plenty of opportunities to connect with nature”. During their 14-day stay in Slovenia, they visited several destinations, stayed at Slovenia Green accommodation providers and spent some great time with locals.

“What surprised us the most was that some of the most charming, most beautiful places in Slovenia are still rather unknown to the masses. These must-see destinations offer a unique opportunity to experience unspoiled nature, century-old traditions, and delicious food and wine pairings at an affordable price”.

Read Oksana & Max’s blog and check out posts on their social media profiles (Facebook and Instagram). Special thanks go to all the providers who we worked with on this project of presenting Slovenia as a green, sustainably oriented country.
