Open Kitchen is back! This year already on five different locations!

Spring brings a whole lot of open-air events with it and one of the most popular ones in Slovenia is Open Kitchen – “a unique and most popular food market on the sunny side of the Alps”. This year, it will take place in five Slovenian towns: Ljubljana, Celje, Koper, Nova Gorica and Ptuj.

Open Kitchen is back! This year already on five different locations!

Odprta kuhna or Open Kitchen is a unique open air food market, which has gained great popularity since its start in Ljubljana in 2013 and thus almost become a synonym for a relaxed (sunny) Friday get-together: not only for foodies, but for all who search for locations to hang out with friends. But what is the thing that distinguishes Odprta kuhna from other food markets? The main distinguishing characteristic is definitely an impressive list of providers that participate in the event. These are not regular street food providers, but high-end restaurants and top quality providers, which have seen a great potential in the project and decided to participate in it. This year, additional 15 providers have joined the project and the organisers promise that that the emphasis will be put on local and typical Slovenian cuisine.

Thanks to increasing popularity, Open Kitchen has expanded also to other locations in Slovenia: this year, you will have a chance to visit the event in four other Slovenian towns: not on a regular basis like in Ljubljana, but on fixed days – if the weather permits, of course.

Celje will host Open Kitchen on 19 May, 9 June, 15 September and 20 October. At Carpaccio Square in Koper, Open Kitchen will take place four times this year, starting this Saturday, 21 April. Additional dates are 16 June, 1 September and 13 October. Nova Gorica will welcome Open Kitchen on 25 April, 23 May, 20 June and 5 September. New location this year is Ptuj, where the event is returning after a tremendously successful first edition in 2017. This year, it will take place three times: on 12 May, 28 June and 8 September.
