Cycling Ambassador of Slovenia 2018

The Cycling Ambassador of Slovenia is back! In five days, the winners of the competition will have a chance to cycle through the country and explore endless possibilities of active holidays in Slovenia, which boasts breath-taking and well-preserved nature, pleasant climate, good infrastructure and more than 8,000 kilometres of cycling paths.

What is more, the participants will be equipped with cameras and enable the public to join their cycling adventure through digital channels. All travel costs, including experienced cycling guides, bicycle equipment, accommodation and a handful of adventures – including the participation at the legendary Red Bull Goni Pony and a cycling tour with professional, world-renowned cyclists (we’ll reveal them soon)  – are covered by the Slovenian Tourism Board. Last year, the Cycling Ambassador project was launched as part of promoting activities for the Tour of Slovenia cycling race. The race was broadcast by the most watched TV sports network, Eurosport, for the first time in history. 243 million viewers worldwide, among them over 113 million cycling enthusiasts, had a chance to admire the ever-changing landscape of Slovenia. Also with this year’s, 25th edition of the race, which will take place 13 – 17 June, the sustainably-themed slogan “Fight for Green” remains at the forefront and directly connects the cyclists’ competition for the winner’s green jersey and the commitment of Slovenia and Slovenian tourism to sustainability.
