Also this year, Slovenia will present itself at the ITB Berlin, world's leading travel trade show, taking place 7-11 March 2018. It will address the visitors with its 5-star experiences and cultural tourism. Together with the Historical Cities of Slovenia, the official partner of Slovenia at ITB, the most picturesque Slovenian towns with a fascinating history will be put into forefront: Kamnik, Jesenice, Radovljica, Kranj, Tržič and Škofja Loka. They will present themselves with a range of diverse interactive and inspiring stories.

2018 also marks some major anniversaries, which represent milestones in both, Slovenian culture and tourism. Postojna Cave celebrates the 200th anniversary of guided tours of the subterranean Karst wonder, and the National Gallery in Ljubljana, which is a real treasury of Slovenian fine arts, its 100th anniversary. Also these celebrations will be put into forefront at the Slovenian Stand at ITB, as well as the fact that Slovenia is a world leader in apitourism: On 20 May, the first EVER World Bee Day Celebration will take place: this is the birthday of Anton Janša (1734–1773), the pioneer of modern beekeeping and one of the greatest experts.

Based on the record-breaking numbers in 2017 – with over 4.7 million tourist arrivals and 11.9 million overnight stays, which denote 13 % more arrivals and 11 % more overnight stays than in 2016, the Slovenian tourism has greatly surpassed the average growth in Europe – and great coverage in the media, 2018 has started optimistically: with a clear vision of presenting this little green, active and healthy country a as a destination for 5-star experiences.
