Slovenia, the Global Centre of the Thermal Spa World

The Slovenian Spas Association, the umbrella organisation for the 15 key stakeholders of thermal and health tourism, whose spas spread like a necklace from the Pannonian Plain to the Pohorje hills and from the Dolenjska vineyards to the Mediterranean saltpans, organised a duo of successful  conferences, focusing on the latest trends in spa and wellness industry.

Slovenia, the Global Centre of the Thermal Spa World

ENSPA (the European Natural Spas Conference) in Radenci Spa Resort was followed by the SPA-CE international trade show, the only one specialising in the spa and wellness industry in Central Europe. This year the most prominent buyers – tour operators, travel agents, wellness and health consultants and experts – visited Ptuj to meet more than 30 exhibitors. Natural spas from Central Europe, wellness hotels, resorts and centres, providers of wellness services, cosmetic products and medical resources, as well as tourist destinations offering spas, presented their range and established new business contacts.

The 35-year-old Ptuj Thermal Spa is one of the youngest in Slovenia. Its thermo-mineral water is known to have a positive effect on neurological diseases. Ptuj´s best feature is the thermal park, an indoor and outdoor pool complex with more than 4200m2 of water surface and the largest water-slide system in Slovenia. The opulent wellness centre has a range of themed baths and various types of massages.

Winter in Slovenia is ideal for revitalisation in the Slovenian spas, which offer a variety of programmes in Merry December. The healthy waters of Slovenia are a never-ending source of energy!
