Red Bull 400 Challenge in Planica

Running 400m doesn't sound like much of a challenge, does it? But what if you were to run those 400m as a pure uphill sprint? The Next Red Bull 400 Challenge will take place on the Planica ski jumping hill, the second largest ski hill in the world. That's a race guaranteed to put the participants to the ultimate test.

Red Bull 400 Challenge in Planica

The Red Bull 400 series tours 14 ski jumps across Europe, Asia and North America. On 16th September, the race will be held in Planica near Kranjska Gora. The Planica Nordic Centre and the flying hill are hosting the best runners, including mountain runners, cyclists or other professional and recreational athletes, for the 5th time.

The annual international competition attracts many competitors from all over the world to test their skills and strength in a pure uphill sprint. The sprint begins at the bottom of the second biggest ski flying hill in the world and ends at the top of the ‘inrun’, with a maximum incline of 38 degrees. Over the 400m long race the competitors overcome a 200 m altitude difference.
