Dine like the World’s Best Female Chef, Ana Roš

Chef Ana Roš, from Hiša Franko, shared where to find Slovenia’s best fine dining, homey pub food, and alfresco country lunches with Vogue magazine. The Slovenian chef was recently named the World’s Best Female Chef 2017 by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards. Last year, she also starred in an episode of Netflix’s Chef’s Table, and was the first woman to join the exclusive Cook It Raw chef community. Follow her ideas and suggestions for a perfect culinary experience.

As the next top culinary destination, Slovenia is home to a versatile food scene that takes influences from its neighbours: Italy to the west, Austria to the north, and Croatia to the south. This means lots of homemade ravioli, fresh cheeses, fish, and lamb, often served with potatoes, leafy greens, fresh bread, and peppery olive oil.

At Hiša Franko (this year named the 69th best restaurant in the world), where Ana Roš works on her masterpieces, the 6- or 11-course menu changes every month.
