Slovenia welcomed the first Cycling Ambassadors of Slovenia
The cycling enthusiasts who were selected in the competition “Cycling Ambassador of Slovenia” arrived on 30th May and started their 6-day cycling mission, visiting the best cycling gems and the most beautiful Slovenian sights. You can follow their journey on social media and on our website. Each day they posted a vlog presenting their adventures and unforgettable experiences.
The six Cycling Ambassadors, from the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom, enjoyed Slovenia for almost a week. Each day consisted of up to 50km routes that took them through different Slovenian regions. They stayed in specialised cycling accommodation, tasted local food, and saw the main highlights of the country. The group discovered Ljubljana, the mysteries of the Peca underground world, Maribor and its surroundings, the Logarska dolina valley, the Posavje region, Brda, the Slovenian coast, the Soča Valley, Bled and Bohinj. One of the highlights was the Red Bull Goni Pony race from Kranjska Gora up the Vršič mountain pass.
The Cycling Ambassador of Slovenia project is part of the promotional activities for the Tour of Slovenia Race, which will be broadcast by the European and global television sport network Eurosport. The race will be seen by 113 million cycling enthusiasts across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and will reach over 100 countries around the globe.
