Hollywood actor and internationally acclaimed comedian Bill Murray has finally been to Slovenia, a full four years after he became the face of Slovenia Vodka in the United States.

His three-day tour of the country also included an obligatory stop in Sevnica, the birthplace of American First Lady, Melania Trump. The main ingredient of Slovenia vodka is buckwheat and the drink has received many international awards. Besides American actor Bill Murray, the Latvian ballet dancer Mihajil Bariškov, who works in America, is also a part owner and a great fan of Slovenia vodka.
Last week Bill Murray came to Slovenia, at the invitation of American chef Peter Kelly and Emil Gaspari, a Slovenian businessman working in the US. The pair came up with the idea for buckwheat-based Slovenia Vodka and invited Bill Murray to join them in partnership four years ago. Since then, Murray does most of the promotional activities and the latest took place in Slovenia. After spending the day in Ljubljana for the promotional event at the Hotel Union, Murray went on to explore the iconic alpine Lake Bled and he also visited Melania Trump's home town, Sevnica. During his stay, he commented: “People always told me Slovenia is a country with beautiful women and intelligent men. To my satisfaction, I can say just the opposite; the men are stunning and women are simply brilliant.”
