Family holidays in Slovenian spas

It has long been true of Slovenian spas that they are more than centres of health and wellbeing. They are becoming increasingly popular for families and for anyone that needs balance between work and free time. Slovenia’s spas and health resorts offer fun animation programmes for children, while parents can indulge in a well-earned rest. Extend summer holidays into autumn

Family holidays in Slovenian spas

Terme Čatež is a water playground for the whole family. It boasts the largest pool area in Slovenia and offers a rich animation programme. Just a few minutes walk from the pools is the adventure-full Indian Village with its traditional Native American tepees. The village takes families and children back to the colourful world of the ancient Native American tribes. Next to it is the Pirate Bay with its cabins, built from natural materials, floating on the lake.

Close to Terme Olimia is the popular Aqualuna water park. The King Kobra slide, regarded as the “adrenalin king” of the park, will soon be joined by the new Black Cannon slide with its even greater descent speed and spectacular finish with a jump into the pool. Families can stay here in apartments or connected rooms which also offer children’s beds. Another special feature of Terme Olimia is the wellness programmes for children. Applying the principles of modern manual medicine, a specialist physiotherapist can perform preventive checks of the child’s locomotor system, and kids also love the chocolate-mint massage for children.

The Sava Hotels & Resorts are ideal for family holidays. Their playful mascots, who make the place and local way of life appealing to children, are closely connected to the local environment. At Terme 3000 children are offered fun every day with Stork Viki, since storks, which return each year to nest here, are a symbol of the Mura region. With Viki, children learn about farming, they dance, socialise and spend happy hours in the fields and nature. At Terme Ptuj there are water attractions with views of Ptuj Castle and the adventures of Legionary Primus, who prepares family activities in the style of the Ancient Romans – team games, art workshops and mosaic-making. At Terme Lendava there is also fun laid on for the youngest guests. Miha the Knight provides knightly workshops and games, chivalric evenings and hunts for knight treasure. Children have fun observing the stars, making pottery and doing magic tricks.
