Slovenia with Pink Week from Ljubljana to Bohinj

A festival with a difference, Pink Week has returned to Slovenia.  From 24th to 28th May the festival offered the chance to explore the country’s natural gems as part of a weeklong celebration for the LGBT community.

Slovenia with Pink Week from Ljubljana to Bohinj

Pink Week has celebrated its fourth year as the most widely recognised LGBT event in South-East Europe with a programme of specially curated events, such as the Plečnik ART dinner in Ljubljana and the Dragon´s Ball Gala Dinner. Visitors to Pink Week enjoyed Bohinj, one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in Europe, the Triglav National Park, iconic Bled, a picture-perfect postcard with magnificent island in the middle of the lake, and the cultural vibe of arty Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Having announced the legalisation of same-sex marriage earlier this year, Slovenia looks forward to proudly supporting the LGBT community.

The organisers and hosts of Pink Week are Ljubljana-based couple Matej Knific and Mattej Valenčič: “We are pleased that we have a mayor who understands that people cannot be discriminated against according to who they love. We are also happy that we have sponsors and supporters who understand that Slovenia should continue to promote LGBT tourism.”
