European Day of Parks in green Slovenia

In Europe, 24th May has been the Day of Parks since 1999. It marks the parks and protected areas across Europe with a common objective: to bring nature closer to people and to raise awareness of preserving the natural beauty of protected areas and ensuring their sustainable management. Celebrate it in the natural green parks of Slovenia!

European Day of Parks in green Slovenia

Changing Climate. Changing Parks” is this year’s slogan of the European Day of Parks. National, regional and landscape parks in Slovenia are inviting all inquisitive and curious individuals, groups and families to spend the day in the parks, learning about nature, its preservation and the environment. Don’t miss the workshops and interesting programmes in the Kozjanski Regional Park, Nature Park Goričko, Škocjanske Jame Regional Park and the Triglav National Park on 24th May.

You can enjoy the fun and educational programmes throughout the entire week between 20th to 28th May, when we mark the Slovenian Week of Parks. You can also go hiking and biking on signed trails, discover natural wonders and just relax in the unspoilt nature. Welcome to the world’s most sustainable country, where more than half of the territory is covered by forests and the preservation of nature is a priority.
