The Summer Flight Timetable 2017 brings great news for passengers of Ljubljana’s international airport and all who love to travel by plane. The Dutch low cost airline Transavia is now offering three direct flights a week between Ljubljana and Amsterdam.
The airline will be flying to Ljubljana with Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 189 seats. The connections are scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings. Tickets are available from €35. “I am happy that the Dutch low cost carrier Transavia will start flying three times a week directly between Amsterdam and Ljubljana. Great business opportunities and exciting city trips can no longer be missed!” commented Bart Twaalfhoven, His Excellency the Netherlands Ambassador to Slovenia.
Janez Krašnja, Head of Airline Management at Aerodrom Ljubljana, welcomed the opening of the new connection in the following words: “The Netherlands is an attractive market for Slovene travellers and we are very happy to offer an additional, low cost connection to Amsterdam by Transavia. The Dutch capital is a lively tourist destination and at the same time a great gateway for onward travel. We anticipate that the new connection will also attract additional Dutch tourists to Slovenia, which is more and more tempting as a safe, green, active and healthy destination. It is expected that this service will have generated at least 25,000 extra passengers by the end of 2017.”
The first scheduled flight from Amsterdam landed at Ljubljana airport on April 4th. It was accompanied by a symbolic water salute from the airport's firefighting vehicles, while the passengers and crew were surprised by sweets in Transavia’s colours.
