Hiša Franko on the World’s Top 100 Restaurants list

Hiša Franko in western Slovenia is celebrating again. Last week the World’s Best Restaurants placed Hiša Franko in 69th place on their prestigious list, following Ana Roš’ announcement as the World’s Best Female Chef at the beginning of the year. This year, the committee increased the number of restaurants that each voter selects from 7 to 10, meaning there were more votes than ever before and an even stronger pool of unbeatable dining experiences across the world.

Restaurant Magazine announced the list of best restaurants  51-100 last week. As a newcomer on the list, the Hiša Franko restaurant was ranked a high 69th. This is not Slovenia’s first placement on the list of best restaurants; before Hiša Franko, the JB restaurant, headed by Janez Bratovž, placed 89th in 2010.

Ana Roš, who has been steadily climbing to the very top of world cuisine, was acknowledged as one of the best and most recognisable chefs of 2016. Her popularity increased even more when she was presented on Netflix’s series Chef's Table, where one of the episodes was dedicated to Hiša Franko and its master chef. Following her Netflix success and her crowning as Best Female Chef in the World, Ana Roš has made guest appearances across the world and was invited to some of the biggest culinary events. She cooked for a wedding in India, and at events in the Maldives, Australia, Scotland and Sochi, Russia. She is now preparing to travel to Melbourne, where as part of the 50 Best awards ceremony she will officially receive the title of Best Female Chef in the World.
