Spring is already knocking on our doors and Slovenia is getting ready for outdoor activities. Hiking and biking are among the most popular activities in our green country. Only a few minutes from the city’s hustle and bustle, you find yourself surrounded by nature, peace and fresh air. Accelerate your heartbeat by walking and cycling on more than 10,000km of marked hiking and biking trails that crisscross Slovenia.
In cooperation with the Hiking & Biking Slovenia Organisation, the Slovenian Tourist Board published the new brochures Hiking in Slovenia and Cycling in Slovenia, both describing and providing information about the two most popular activities in Slovenia.
Our pristine green nature is accessible at every step in green, active and healthy Slovenia, since as many as 10,000km of marked hiking trails and over 300km of cycling paths can be found in the country. It does not matter whether you are a beginner or a professional athlete, the variety of difficulties offer an active retreat for everybody. The trails offer magnificent views of nature and our natural heritage, even if you start in the cities. Why would you stay for only one day, when you can enjoy Slovenia for longer? You can stay in accommodation specialising in hikers and cyclists.
Join numerous walkers on organised hikes at sport events and festivals. “Let’s hike Slovenia” is an initiative by Hiking & Biking Slovenia Organization which organises a series of hiking events throughout the year. Attend the Brda Spring Hiking Festival, from 9th April to 4th June. The land of invigorating moments in early springtime is a colourful array of flowering, fragrant, relaxing experiences and without a doubt the best choice to open the Slovenian hiking season.
