Ljubljana and Slovenia on international bucket lists

Travel around green, active and healthy Slovenia! Visit iconic Lake Bled in the north-west region of the country, which is embraced by the highest alpine peaks. The scenery is so spectacular, many have called it a fairy tale, utterly breathtaking and simply beautiful. In central Slovenia, don’t miss the mysterious underground world of Postojna Cave. The magnificent network of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls and its astonishing diversity and accessibility are only a few reasons for its popularity. Both Lake Bled and Postojna Cave were placed on the Lonely Planet’s definite bucket list of places you must see.

Stop at Ljubljana, one of the greenest capitals in the world. It was the European Green Capital 2016 and the proud holder of a Tourism for Tomorrow 2015 award. Being a city with a green soul and a high level of environmental awareness, it has managed to preserve its green character up to the present day. Ljubljana has always been creative and inspiring. The city has a relaxing and friendly atmosphere – you can enjoy a cup of coffee in one of many cafes on the embankment of the river Ljubljanica; explore the city centre, which is closed to traffic, by bike; have a Taste Ljubljana experience; or visit a cultural event. Ljubljana hosts more than 10,000 cultural events annually. The capital has ranked among the top 10 most popular cities, on a scale produced by the global city guides In Your Pocket.
