Ljubljana passes on its title with a record month

Ljubljana celebrated the entry into the year 2017 with a successful farewell to the title of European Green Capital 2016, and a record number of overnight stays, visitors and organised tours in December. The hotels in the Slovenian capital recorded almost 5,900 overnight stays, which represented a 98.2% occupancy, a new record. During December, almost 2,000 visitors searched for information at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC Ljubljana) daily, which is comparable to the number of visitors during the peaks of the best summer seasons. The highest number of tourists came from Italy, Croatia, Austria, Serbia, Germany and England. TIC Ljubljana also noticed an increase in the number of visitors from South Korea and Japan.

Visit Ljubljana is proud of the high take-up of their regular and individual guided tours. Altogether a total of 39,244 tourists attended the organised sightseeing tours.
