Slovenia among the safest countries in the world

Slovenia is ranked 10th among the safest countries in the world, with no influence of terrorism. The fourth edition of the Global Terrorism Index 2016 was published by the Institute for Economics and Peace at the end of November. It provides a comprehensive summary of the key global trends and patterns in terrorism over the last 16 years.

Slovenia is once again ranked among the countries with zero impact of terrorism. The Global Terrorism Index (GTI) is an attempt to systematically rank the world’s nations according to safety. In 2015, 67 countries improved their index. The total value of the index has dropped by 6%, which represents a decline in the impact of terrorism, while the number of attacks has dropped by 10% (in 2015, compared to 2014). The great importance of the index is reflected in the fact that countries without terrorist attacks have twice as large a contribution of tourism to GDP.

The index combines a number of factors to build an explicit picture of the impact of terrorism over a certain period, illustrating trends, and providing a data series for analysis by researchers and policymakers.

Welcome to the safe oasis of green, active and healthy Slovenia.
