Slovenia on Al Jazeera Balkans

From 13th October on, Al Jazeera Balkans will broadcast the documentary show “Alchemy of the Balkans in Slovenia”, with the legendary Goran Milić as its host. Travelogue series in the countries of the region have reaped great success, and now on our small screens comes a new series of programmes with the focus on Slovenia.

The documentary series represents countries in the Balkan region in a way that avoids stereotypes in order to represent the human side of the story. It displays the beautiful countryside and presents people who may not be very well known to the public, as well as those who have achieved significant private or professional success. The Alchemy of the Balkans has already presented other countries in the region – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, and Macedonia – and now it is Slovenia’s turn.

The travelogue series was filmed in Slovenia this spring and will take you to large and small towns and villages along the coast and the mountains. Discover their story: from Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, to Bled and Tito’s villas, spas and health resorts, the Old Vine in Maribor, Fonda’s sea bass and Piran salt. The crew visited Postojna Cave, Rogaška Slatina and the international school IEDC Bled. The documentary was also filmed in the economic giants of Slovenia – Gorenje, Triglav, Akrapovič, Riko groups and others. The series about Slovenia includes more than 80 interviewees.
