Ljubljana gets its own on-demand public transit service

Ljubljana is getting a new public transport service which will initially enable users to take a trip by electric car on demand on city bus routes. The Eurban service, with 20 electric cars, will be provided by the Ljubljana public transport company LPP.

The new Eurban electric cars were presented at the start of European Mobility Week in September. Using the service will be similar to taking a bus, with the passengers getting on and off at regular bus routes and stops, with the only difference being that they will have to order their ride. The on-demand rides will be available in areas where the bus service is less frequent or where there are fewer passengers at certain times.

The basic trip on demand will be available at LPP fares and will be payable by the Urbana city smart card or by smartphone. The service will then be expanded outside existing bus routes.

Enjoy your ride on the streets of Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016!
