On World Tourism Day, Slovenia and Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, hosted the flagship green destinations event on a global scale, Global Green Destinations Day. The event inspired Jonathan Tourtellot from Voices of National Geographic to write Slovenia: A “Green Destination” of Many Hues. In connection with the event, Ljubljana was featured in an article on the German blog Travelcontinent - Reisen mit Kultur; Ljubljana – urban und grün! You can also read about the 6 different shades of green of Slovenia (Une Slovénie plus verte que jamais) in the French Voyageons-Autrement.

At the end of October, the Slovenian Tourist Board organised a tasty presentation of Slovenia to selected American travel agencies and tour operators, key tourism and lifestyle media and opinion leaders in New York City. The event was enriched by a culinary experience with celebrity chef Ana Roš of the hit Netflix show Chef’s Table and her cookery masterpieces. The event was featured in the Travel Daily News: Slovenian Tourist Board enters U.S. market with splashy NYC event.

“You like nature? Visit Slovenia. Green to the eyes – one of the nicest and most pleasant countries in Europe offers green landscapes, blue lakes, a capital city with red roofs and a peaceful atmosphere that makes you jealous" wrote the popular Israeli weekly magazine Laisha. Slovenia also featured in the “Israel Today” magazine.
