CNN about the most beautiful Slovenian adventures

Welcome to our green, active and healthy land. The American broadcast network, CNN, prepared a list of the most beautiful locations in Slovenia, the country that “gave the world Melania Trump, the next First Lady of the United States.” Visit Ljubljana, the Škocjan Caves, Bled, the Triglav National Park, Brda, the Lipica estate and stud farm, and sample the delicious food and exquisite “orange” wines.

Slovenia is a country between the Alps, the Mediterranean Sea and the Pannonian plains, whose name carries the most beautiful feeling – love. Love is so strong that it connects the mountains and the sea, the forests and the waters, the fields and the vineyards, the earth and the sky. Here are the adventures that CNN recommends you to experience in Slovenia, Melania Trump`s homeland:

* Slovenia has a green soul. Over half of the land is covered by forests, which are home to the country`s 700 or so wild bears, one of Europe`s highest populations.

Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016 in the perfect starting point of your trip. Take a walk along its streets and the river embankment, full of bars, cafes and galleries.

Škocjan Caves are on the UNESCO World Heritage list with more than six kilometres of underground lakes, waterfalls and natural bridges. It is also known for the largest underground canyon in the world.

Bled and its beautiful lake is an iconic alpine town in north-west Slovenia. You can take a traditional boat, pletna, to reach the romantic island in the middle of the lake.

The Triglav National Park is the only national park in Slovenia. It embraces the Alps and is known for its rich natural biodiversity, the legend of Zlatorog, the golden-horned ibex, and numerous possibilities for an active retreat.

* Lipizzaner horses are raised in Lipica, the oldest stud farm in Europe. These noble horses are known for their Spanish riding school techniques and the fact that they are born black and only become white as they grow up.

Brda, the land of invigorating moments thrills with its romantic hills, covered by orchards, vineyards and olive groves. Try the local “orange” wine: “one of the most sought-after bottles on the global market” as CNN describes it.
