Pokljuka hosts the BMW IBU World Cup competitions

The biathlon range at Pokljuka in north-west Slovenia is ready for the international BMW IBU World Cup competitions, starting on 6th December. Until 11th December, Pokljuka will host the best biathlon athletes in the world. The interest in the tickets and the biathlon weekend at Pokljuka is very high. Biathlon week at Pokljuka, the BMW IBU World Cup competitions, will start with official training on Thursday, followed by sprint competitions on Friday, pursuits on Saturday and relay races on Sunday. The lower temperatures of the past few days have given the organizers the opportunity to fully prepare the track and venue for the international biathlon competitions. Matej Kordež, the Chief of Operations, was happy with the preparations: “Around 30 people were working at the tracks and the number of workers increased in the last few days of the preparation.”

Tomaž Šušteršič, Secretary General of the Pokljuka Organizing Committee, is happy about the large demand for tickets: “We have sold more than 500 multi-day VIP packages. Interest is also growing in the other tickets which are still available.”
