First food and wine guide to Istria
Flavours of Istria, the first food and wine guide to Italian, Slovenian and Croatian Istria, has just been published. Over 80 participating olive oil producers, winemakers and restaurants from the three countries have for the first time crossed national boundaries and provided a description of Istria as a single gastronomic region. The guide has been published in an edition of 7,500 copies and is available in four languages: Slovene, Croatian, Italian and English.

Over 80 participating olive oil producers, winemakers and restaurants from the three countries have for the first time crossed national boundaries and provided a description of Istria as a single gastronomic region. The guide has been published in an edition of 7,500 copies and is available in four languages: Slovene, Croatian, Italian and English.
The guide is the work of author Jože Splichal and photographer Dean Dobokovič. Other collaborators include Jani and Nina Bavčer of Arsenal Design and Ana Praprotnik and Petra Rutar of Creativ Direkt.
Istria of flavours. Extra virgin olive oil and wine. Truffles, culinary kings, black and white, including the 1.3-kilogram world-record-holding white truffle. Game, boškarin (an Istrian breed of cattle) – meat from the interior of Istria; whitefish and pelagic fish, crustaceans and molluscs – fresh from the Adriatic.
