sLOVEnia GREEN: Open-Air Hostel – Eco-Camp Canyon

There is no doubt that Eco-Camp Canyon is one of the most original campsites in Slovenia and perhaps even in the whole of the Alps. It lies at the heart of the Triglav National Park in the village of Soča (Trenta), along the gorges of the river Soča. The `Adrenaline-Check Eco-Camp Canyon` project was ranked one of the three best green models of Slovenian tourism in a Slovenian Tourist Board competition.

The first ecological campsite in Slovenia is built exclusively from natural materials. All energy is provided by the sun and water is used for cooling. Surprises awaiting visitors to the eco-camp include: wooden footbridges, natural stairs, clematis fences, natural dustbins, a `living house`, wooden sculptures, etc.

The `Adrenaline-Check Eco-Camp Canyon` project was ranked one of the three best green models of Slovenian tourism. The entry to the Slovenian Tourist Board competition was submitted by Solane d.o.o. The project scored maximum points for originality, since as well as the above characteristics the campsite also features small eco-huts which place it in the `open-air hostels` category.
