Situated in wonderful vineyards in remarkable locations, in natures embrace, vineyard cottages are ideal for a peaceful yet active rural break. Whether you choose to spend your time lost in your own thoughts, leafing through a favourite book and spending time with loved ones, or set off to explore the sights of the Posavje region, you are sure to want to return.

Vineyard cottages – a different kind of holiday

The vineyard cottages of Posavje open their doors

If you are looking for authenticity and would like to spend a peaceful holiday in the countryside, the vineyard cottages of the Posavje region offer you an extraordinary experience. Set in wonderful locations with marvellous views, on the edges of vineyards, these lovingly built cottages were originally only intended for the closest family members and friends of their owners. Now, for the first time in history, they have opened their doors to you too. What is it about a holiday in a vineyard cottage that is so attractive to tourists? Vineyard cottage stays appeal to people who want a peaceful yet active holiday. Cycling, hiking, boating, horse riding or simply relaxing strolls through hill vineyards are part of the attraction. The food and wine offered by the traditional gostilne, open farms, wine shops and restaurants of the surrounding area are without a doubt yet another reason. Those who are interested in local culture and other events will find much to enjoy in the Posavje region, with its numerous traditional festivities and celebrations (the Wine Spring in Metlika, Cviček Week in Novo Mesto, Market Days in Žužemberk, the Semič Wedding event, the Feast of St George in Črnomelj, the Cvičkarija Festival, the Cherry Festival, Rock Otočec, Topliška Noč in Dolenjske Toplice, St Bartholomew`s Day, the Straža Autumn Festival, Saint Martin`s Day festivities, From the Trebnje Basket, and so on). And don`t forget to sample the fine wines of the noted winemakers of the Posavje Wine Region. And of course Cviček, a local speciality and the only wine in Europe with an alcohol content of less than 10%.
